About the Academy
Founding Principles of the Academy
Tomorrow’s world is digital and the technology advances so fast that it is hard to keep up with the new innovations. Whether it is for today or for tomorrow, it is key for children (and parents) to be aware of the digital world and how it works.
Many children today become more and more interested in IT and technology, and tomorrow’s world is full of IT jobs that will power the new world. Understanding very early how IT works should help adapt to the ever-evolving technology.
The Academy aims at providing awareness sessions, practical and fun workshops, and a cool way to learn technology, not only for being smarter with IT and technology but also to be
aware of risks and best practices of this online world
How does a typical class look like?
The concept, as a start, is to have monthly 4-hour Saturday afternoon sessions each focused on dedicated topics. The list of session topics is depicted in a dedicated document that will be regularly updated.
The idea of each session is designed for 11+ level of maturity. The session teacher will be responsible for ensuring a proper motivation and a suitable program with fun, breaks and a healthy rhythm.
A document is also available describing the various considerations.
Some sessions may interest your child more than others, and participation is always flexible. You can refer to the list of sessions to plan accordingly.
Each session will come with a set of materials including an overview of the session, a list of requirements, a parent guide, and a student mission book to bring back home and study
or review with the parents (optional).
Every session will start with a short introduction video selected by the teacher. After the video, The real fun starts. The classroom will be designed like a laboratory with students having their own task following the theory part. The hands-on session is the longest and most representative session of what the Academy is. During this time, the teacher and students will interact with fun learning activities split by bio breaks and a longer snack break. Finally, the session concludes with a summary of the topic and an open possibility to elaborate later. The teacher hands out the Mission books for taking back home.
